How to create a release Music, Art, Books and more in SPOZZ?

All music and collectible items created in the SPOZZ Marketplace are in a collection. Therefore, before launching, you must create your own collection (if necessary, see How to create collections that allow me to launch Music, Art, Photography, Animation, Books and more).

Once you have created your collection, go to “Create”, “Drops/Initial Content Sales”:

Subsequently, select the category to which this release will belong. In the case of this tutorial, we could only create Music or Audio book releases, since we had previously created collections in those categories (if necessary, see How to create collections that allow me to make releases of Music, Art, Photography, Animation, Books and more).

In this case, we have chosen the music category. The process of creating the release in all categories is very similar. Mainly, what varies is certain information (metadata) that the creator can add to the release. In this regard, we recommend you see the article How to upload the ISRC code, song lyrics and other specific data to your releases?

Step 1 - Basic information

As can be seen in the following images, the creator must incorporate the audio of the song, the cover art, define the name of the song, put a description of the song and determine to which collection this release will belong.

Artists can also define exclusive content that only the purchasers of the items will be able to see. This is very useful for those who release a book, for example, so that the content of the book is only accessible to those who buy a copy of it.

Meanwhile, if an artist is releasing a song, they can also add exclusive content, such as a video for their fans, for example.

After completing these fields, click to continue.

Step 2 - Technical information

At this stage, you must choose the type of license.

Basically, the “Music Lover” license is for personal use. With this license, people who purchase the copy will be able to listen to the song in the SPOZZ streaming app.

Meanwhile, with the “Super Fan” license, in addition to the benefit of being able to listen to the songs, the artists assign part of the reproduction income to those who purchase the copies. For more details on this matter, see the article on this subject

You must also define whether you will create a release model with a limited number of copies while stocks last (e.g. 10 million copies) or a release model in which you define a deadline before which copies can be sold.

Subsequently, the price and currency in which the copies will be sold must be chosen.

Regarding the Income Split, it is a great opportunity for artists to distribute profits automatically among the various creators, managers and investors as they wish. The percentages will be defined at this moment for eternity and no one will be able to change them in the future (creators define their own terms). For more details, see the article How to distribute the income from the sales of my songs, videos or other releases among several artists and/or producers?

Regarding royalties, something similar happens: the creators define the percentage that each one will receive from the resales of the copies at this moment and forever. The maximum percentage to be distributed is 10 percent. For more details, see the article mentioned in the previous paragraph.

Step 3 - Additional data

In this third step, you must add metadata (e.g. ISRC code, song lyrics, etc.), indicate tags, song genre, language and something VERY IMPORTANT: you must indicate if you want the release to be available in the streaming app.

You can also schedule a release date in the “Release Date” field if you wish.

After clicking continue, the drop will be created and will be available for your followers to buy the copies.

The drops you have created will appear on your profile in the “My Drops” section:

It will also appear in the releases section in the SPOZZ Marketplace and in the streaming app.
