Why Should Artists Connect a Wallet on SPOZZ and What Are the Advantages? How to Download Your Wallet and Link It to Your SPOZZ Account

Technology continues to evolve, offering advantages unimaginable decades or even years ago.

For artists, technology  advancements provide artists with significant benefits and are transforming the way they sell and monetize their work. SPOZZ has developed an ecosystem that integrates blockchain technology (the same technology behind Bitcoin and Ethereum), offering the following advantages:

  • Artists receive the money from their sales and earnings directly to their personal wallets.
  • There are no intermediaries between artists and their fans (although artists can include producers and record labels, defining a percentage of their earnings for them).
  • Revenue can be automatically divided at the time of each release (e.g., for songs among various musicians, producers, etc.). Each song can have different percentages allocated.
  • This revenue division is secured by blockchain technology, ensuring that no one can modify or alter the earnings allocated during the release process.
  • Earnings are transferred instantly (within seconds) to the respective wallets, regardless of the artists’ or buyers’ locations.

New technology always requires a learning curve, and it’s natural to feel some hesitation about taking this step. However, the process of setting up your own wallet is relatively simple compared to the significant benefits it provides.

Below is a tutorial on how to download one of the most widely used wallets today. This process takes less than 15 minutes.

A wide variety of wallets can be used within the SPOZZ ecosystem. Each user should consider which wallet best suits their needs. In fact, if you click the “Connect Wallet” button and select “All Wallets”, you’ll see hundreds of options available:

Let’s now explore how to download the MetaMask wallet and link it to your SPOZZ account.

How to Download the MetaMask Extension for Your Browser and Create Your First Wallet

First, go to the official website https://metamask.io/ in your browser (e.g., Chrome):

Click the “Download” button to access a new page where you can choose the browser for installing the MetaMask extension. This page also lists browsers that support MetaMask. Click the corresponding browser icon:

After selecting your browser, you’ll be redirected to a new page to start the download. As shown here, more than 15 million users are using this extension at the time of creating this tutorial. Click “Add to Chrome”:

To proceed, you’ll need to confirm the installation:

In just a few seconds, the extension will be added to your browser, and you’ll be able to create a new wallet or recover one you’ve previously created. To continue, you must read and accept the terms of service.

Click “Create a New Wallet” to proceed. MetaMask will provide additional information about its service:

Next, create your password. It’s important to note that in Web3, you are solely responsible for protecting your passwords. Never share them with anyone, and if you forget them, no one will be able to help you recover them. Above all, the seed phrase is critical:

After setting your password, the next step is related to the wallet’s seed phrase, which allows you to be the only person with access to the funds. As Spider-Man says, “With great power comes great responsibility.” If you lose this phrase, you won’t be able to access your funds.

Write down this 12-word seed phrase on paper (or several papers) and store it securely. Never save it on your computer or phone. To continue, select “Secure My Wallet”:

When you select this option, you’ll have the chance to view the seed phrase. Make sure no one else is around when you do this:

For this tutorial, we’re revealing the phrase as an example, but this wallet will never be used:

The system will ask you to confirm certain words from the phrase to ensure you’ve copied it correctly:

Click “Confirm” to complete the process and create your wallet:

MetaMask will then explain where to find the extension in your browser:

Click “Done” to view your wallet. Initially, it will be empty and without any tokens. By default, you’ll see the Ethereum network, although MetaMask is also compatible with Polygon and BNB Smart Chain, for example.

With this wallet, you’ll be able to operate across various platforms in the SPOZZ ecosystem. Next, we’ll see how to switch your wallet to the Polygon network, which is very cost-effective for creating albums or art collections and receiving payments from anywhere in the world (approximately one-thousandth of a dollar per transaction).

Here’s the general view of your wallet:

Click “Ethereum Mainnet”, select “Add Network”, and add the Polygon network:

Now that your wallet is installed in your browser (e.g., Chrome or Firefox), open your SPOZZ account in the same browser. After that, clicking “Connect Wallet” will allow the platform to detect that MetaMask is already installed:

Once connected, you’ll notice that the “Connect Wallet” button is no longer visible (indicating the wallet is successfully linked). Now that your wallet is connected, you’re ready to create your first album or collection and start releasing your songs or artwork.

That’s it for this tutorial! Keep in mind that if you log out of SPOZZ or disconnect your wallet, you’ll need to reconnect it whenever you want to create a new song or similar content.
